Autumn Term 2018

We have had great fun this half term learning about the history of graffiti and trying out different types of graffiti. We also have use stones and copper wire to create beaded trees.

Summer Term 2018

Tower Of London Visit

After learning about how crime and punishment changed throughout the ages, and learning about many, many gruesome punishments we paid a visit to the Tower of London. It was amazing. We learnt so many extra facts just by walking around and seeing real life history.

Our clocks

In Design and Technology we had great fun in making our clocks. We planned the design and then were given the materials. We then had to adapt our design and paint the clock face. We then had to add different parts to make sure that the clocks actually worked. We were delighted with the finished products.

Royal Wow Day

To celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle we had a WOW day.

We all dressed in red, white and blue and had a great day. We learnt all about the Royal Family and wrote about the upcoming wedding.

In the afternoon the whole school played traditional games on the field and toasted the couple with a drink and a decorated cupcake

Spring Term 2018

World Book Day

We had great fun dressing up as characters from our favourite books for World Book Day. We also completed an emoji quiz about book titles and then drew some of our own book titles using emojis.

This term we learnt about the art work of Charles Fazzino who is a 3D pop artist who specializes in cityscapes. We then had a go at making our own.

Autumn Term 2017

This term we learnt about the earth, sun and moon. We had to prove that the Sun moves around the Earth. We learnt about the phases of the moon and also about the blue moon. We also made moon landers and tried them out to see which ones landed safely. Finally our learning was topped off by our 'Wow' day which was on space.

Art and Design Technology

During this term in Art we learnt about graffiti and the history of Banksy.  We drew stone age drawings under our tables, made our names into graffiti and practiced painting standing up. We then moved onto Design Technology and the making of drawstring bags. Trust us it sounds a lot easier than it actually was. Who knew that sewing was so difficult?

In PE we had to design a routine with a partner that includes synchronised balances and movements and contrasting balances and movements.Once we had performed the routine on the floor (mats) we then had to progress to using pieces of apparatus.
